In der guten alten Zeit war das [http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time-Sharing_(Informatik) Time Sharing Verfahren] eine Revolution. Nutzer konnten quasi parallel per Terminal auf Kisten hacken, die heute locker von einer Armbanduhr emuliert werden können. Danach kam eine Epoche, in der sich Leute hochgezüchtete GHz-Boliden unter den Schreibtisch stellten. Mit dem Web 2.0 und deren Bedienelementen wie Smartphones, Netbooks oder neuen Geräteklassen wie dem angekündigten iPad scheint dieses Benutzungsmodel zurück zu kommen. Der Großrechner ist die Cloud und das Terminal das Netbook.
